
Memphis police are actively investigating a burglary that occurred in the 500 block of Mendenhall Road. According to an official report published on September 15th, it was on August 23, 2025, around 1:00 p.m. when officers first responded to a break-in at a local residence. The burglary was carried out on the previous day, August 22, when surveillance footage captured a Black male suspect forcibly entering the victim's apartment.
The perpetrator, upon breaking through the front door, proceeded to brazenly enter the victim's bedroom to forcefully remove a small black safe. Details provide a physical description of the suspect as wearing a black mask, a white T-shirt, and distinct light-colored jean shorts with rips, pink gloves, and black and white shoes. After acquiring the safe, he was seen partnering up to get into a white sedan with a notable gray front driver’s side fender before escaping the crime scene alongside a second, as-of-yet unidentified individual.
Authorities are seeking help from the community, encouraging anyone who has information about this crime to step forward. The Memphis Police Department calls for the public's assistance, asking potential witnesses or those with relevant knowledge to reach out to Crime Stoppers. "Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274)," urges the official statement taken from the police's website.
