
More than seven years have passed since the unsolved homicide of Prentice Pleas near the Exxon station at 4675 South Third Street in Memphis. On the early hours of Sunday, September 9, 2018, around 1:20 a.m., Memphis Police responded to a reported shooting. They discovered Pleas with multiple gunshot wounds and later pronounced him dead in a nearby wooded area, out of sight from passersby.
The Memphis Police Department renewed their appeal to the public, encouraging anyone with information to come forward. A statement on their website indicates that investigators are still actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those responsible.
