On an early morning in October last year, a tragedy occurred on the streets of Memphis which remains unresolved to this date. According to the Memphis Police Department, a male victim was struck by a vehicle while crossing South Danny Thomas Boulevard on an electric mobility scooter. This hit-and-run crash, reported on at 5:05 a.m., October 14, 2024, has not only claimed a life but has also left the community grappling to find the person responsible.
The aftermath of the crash led the victim to be transported in critical condition to a local hospital. The Memphis Police Department's lamentable update confirmed that the man succumbed to his injuries by October 26, 2024. The authorities have not been able to clearly describe either the driver or the vehicle, which quickly fled the scene leaving behind few clues to go on. Community members and law enforcement have come together in an effort to resolve the case, but the driver's identity remains unknown.
