Early morning on August 27 brought a sharp disruption to the quiet of Sparrow Wood Lane, as Memphis police responded to a robbery at the Ivey Chase Apartments. Three men, in a stolen gray 2022 Hyundai Elantra, confronted a victim at gunpoint, swiftly absconding with his cell phone and wallet. The Memphis Police Department reports that the vehicle was later recovered, but the suspects remain at large.
Witnesses and the victim provided descriptions to aid law enforcement efforts. The first suspect, a thin male thought to be around 5'7" to 5'9", was clad entirely in black with a matching mask to shield his face. His accomplice also favored the anonymity of black but donned red gloves and white sneakers, a white mask breaking the monotony. The third remained in the stolen car, an unwilling or maybe an unwilling spectator to the early morning heist.
