According to Local Memphis, the altercation was caught on surveillance footage outside Momma's Bar, showing actions that led to the incident. Initially throwing Marion's phone to the ground and tossing a beer can, Floyd is seen driving away only to return shortly after, and aggressively approached Marion, who reportedly warned him before opening fire. A grand jury saw sufficient evidence to elevate her charges, while Marion, who posted a $100,000 bond in March, claims self-defense.
The shooting of Pastor Floyd, an admired figure in the Memphis community known for his dedication to reducing youth violence through The Husband Institute and providing various community services through his church, has sparked a complex legal battle. Marion's defense contends that the accused acted in protection of her own life.
