Having passed away in January, Grosz's contributions to the spiritual and communal life in Miami Beach have not been forgotten, with a section of the street now permanently bearing his name. Despite having endured the evil of the Holocaust, Rabbi Grosz dedicated himself to mentoring and educating the next generation, carrying invaluable lessons of Jewish history. In a ceremony attended by the younger generation, City of Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner said they honored the Rabbi, who was able to connect with everyone and taught them not only about history but also about life’s virtues. The narrative of Rabbi Grosz's perseverance and dedication was echoed by Mayor Steven Meiner, who said, "He was able to connect with everyone," in a statement obtained by WSVN 7News.
With the new street sign now in place, both residents and visitors of Miami Beach will be reminded of Rabbi Grosz's life's work and enduring influence on the community. Rabbi Grosz arrived in Miami Beach back in 1982, and ever since then, his impact has continued to resonate throughout the region until his passing earlier this year.
The city's gesture to memorialize Rabbi Grosz through the street naming will ensure that his spirit remains a guiding force. As a survivor who faced the worst of humanity, he chose to exemplify the best, imparting wisdom, faith, and resilience to all who knew him. "With the younger generation, taking the lessons he learned, not just from Jewish history, and the evil that he lived with, persevered, but also taking the torah with him and be able to teach the next generation," observed Mayor Meiner, further illustrating Rabbi Grosz's deep connection to the Jewish community and his enduring legacy, as noted by WSVN.
