A deputy of the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office finds himself on the wrong side of the law after being arrested for allegedly assaulting his brother in North Miami. According to Local 10 News, Jordan Aristide, 26, was taken into custody yesterday following a domestic altercation that involved him allegedly charging at and attacking his sibling, who was recording the incident outside their shared residence.
The arrest report, sourced by NBC Miami, outlines that the confrontation escalated after Aristide's brother noticed him altering the front door lock. Subsequently, Aristide allegedly grabbed him by the neck, took him down to the ground, and began a physical attack that resulted in bruising and a laceration to the side of the neck.
Aristide, who has been an MDSO employee since April 1, 2024, was relieved of duty with pay, Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office confirmed. The department has been under scrutiny as Aristide's arrest on charges of domestic violence battery marked the second such incident involving an MDSO deputy on the same day—the other being Lt. Brian Pfeiffer, who faced accusations concerning a separate domestic incident with his wife.
Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz expressed her stance on the matter, stating, "I am disappointed to learn that two of my deputies were arrested in separate domestic related incidents. Our deputies are held to the highest standards, and I expect more responsible behavior!" The statement, which Local 10 News obtained, emphasizes that domestic violence is intolerable in the community and encourages the pursuit of help as a sign of strength.
Information from both reports indicated that eyewitnesses intervened, separating the brothers before police arrived, and Aristide was eventually taken into custody and charged with battery. Following the arrest, he was shortly absent from the online jail database, a detail also confirmed by Local 10 News.
