A serious accident involving a mini-bike and a sedan left one rider with life-threatening injuries in northeast Las Vegas. As reported by News 3 LV, the collision occurred yesterday at the intersection of Gowan and Pecos roads near Cheyenne Avenue. The mini-bike rider, traveling east on Gowan Road, collided with the sedan as it made a left turn onto southbound Pecos Road, directly into the rider's path.
Following the crash, the rider was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment of the critical injuries sustained, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are currently leading an ongoing investigation into the incident, as noted by 8 News Now. Pecos Road was shut down in both directions at Gowan Road for a time as a result of the accident, according to information provided by RTC Southern Nevada, with drivers advised to seek alternate routes.
Authorities have yet to release the identity of the mini-bike rider or determine the exact cause of the crash, but the significant impact to the passenger side of the sedan indicates the forceful nature of the incident. Meanwhile, the sedan driver's condition was not immediately disclosed in initial reports from law enforcement, as Metro police did not provide further details.
