The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is laying out the welcome mat for prospective employees with two scheduled hiring events this September, aimed squarely at filling roles in roadway maintenance and construction. Job hunters in Missouri have a shot at joining the team responsible for tending to the nation's seventh-largest highway system, with interviews and possible same-day conditional job offers on the agenda. Candidates must hurdle a drug test and background check following an offer, as stated by MoDOT.
MoDOT is holding recruitment events for job seekers interested in transportation careers. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and bring identification. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or permit is preferred but not required, as MoDOT will provide full training. Benefits include medical insurance, educational assistance, and more.
The first event takes place in Jefferson City on Sept. 12, from noon to 6 p.m. at 1511 Missouri Boulevard. The second will be in Cuba on Sept. 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cuba Maintenance Facility, 7149 Old Highway 66, near I-44 at Route UU (Exit 210).
MoDOT encourages those interested to apply in person at these events or online through the department’s website.
