Justice has taken a step forward in Morgan Hill as local police have made an arrest following a hit-and-run incident that left an elderly woman seriously injured. According to the Morgan Hill Police Department, the incident occurred on September 3, when a woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing Burnett Avenue in a crosswalk. The driver ran a red light from southbound Monterey Road onto Burnett Avenue and fled the scene.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but is now on the path to recovery. Meanwhile, the police's investigative efforts ultimately led to the identification and arrest of a suspect. This development culminated in detective work that followed the incident by several weeks, indicating the diligence with which local authorities pursued the case.
When officers made the connection, the suspect, a South County resident, was already in custody for an unrelated matter. After being interviewed by authorities, the suspect was arrested for hit-and-run.
