Destrehan residents and commuters faced a series of road closures as construction and public works projects demanded street detours today. According to an update from the St. Charles Parish Government website, Ormond Center Court has roadblocks stretching from Rotolo's Pizza all the way to Buddy's Frostop due to ongoing construction work.
Additionally, Jonathan Street's closure comes with an indefinite end date, deeply carving into local routines. While emergency vehicles are being rerouted through Bunge’s heavy haul road for access to Noel Street, regular traffic props up its stakes to find alternate roads until further notice. This rerouting is seemingly designed to help manage the flow and avoid Lorraine Street.
