Earlier today's shooting in Avondale has led to the arrest of a New Orleans man, according to Jefferson Parish authorities. Semaj Brown, 25, faces second-degree murder charges following an incident that left another man dead outside a local business. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were called to the scene in the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 90 around 12:50 a.m., as stated by both WWLTV and NOLA.com.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to FOX8Live, Brown was found at the scene and "stated he was involved in the incident." The area of the shooting, close to establishments such as a Subway and a Family Dollar, was quickly cordoned off as part of the investigation.
Brown was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center following the acquisition of an arrest warrant.
