
The New Orleans Police Department has apprehended 26-year-old Enrique Garcia in connection with a fatal shooting in the First District. The incident unfolded early lasr Sarurday, in the 3200 block of Dumaine Street, setting in motion a swift investigation by local detectives that led to Garcia's arrest the same day, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department News.
Responding to a morning call at approximately 7:55 a.m., First District officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, whose identity has yet to be revealed pending next of kin notification, received immediate medical attention but succumbed to his injuries after transport to a nearby hospital, as detailed by the New Orleans Police Department.
According to the New Orleans Police Department News release, the Homicide Section of the New Orleans Police Department conducted an investigation which swiftly converged on Garcia. Identified as the alleged assailant, he was located within the Third District and taken into custody without further incident.
Garcia, designated as a Hispanic male born on November 6, 1998, now faces a second-degree murder charge. He remains detained at the Orleans Justice Center as the ramifications of that September morning continue unfolding, as per the New Orleans Police Department.
