A manhunt is underway following a brutal stabbing incident on a Bronx MTA bus earlier this month. The NYPD's Crimestoppers unit has disseminated a plea for information concerning the violent assault that left a 23-year-old male with multiple stab wounds. According to official reports, the attack took place on September 2 on a BX9 bus as it trundled east along East Kingsbridge Road.
The assailant struck just as the vehicle came to a halt opposite of 321 East Fordham Road. It was in this fleeting moment, as the doors slid open and the victim prepared to step out into the urban morning, that his journey was mercilessly interrupted. An individual, yet to be identified, lunged at the young man from behind, piercing his back and left arm repeatedly with a sharp object. NYPD Crimestoppers are now appealing to the public to come forward with any potentially relevant information.
The NYPD has yet to release complete details of the assailant or the impetus for the assault, only that they are actively pursuing leads to bring the perpetrator swiftly to justice.
Authorities urge anyone with information to play part in piecing together this mystery. The Crimestoppers social media post suggests a private message to their handle, @nypdtips, or a call to the hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) as viable avenues for anonymous tipsters.
