A Missouri man has been sentenced to 78 months in prison for possession of child pornography. U.S. District Judge John A. Ross ordered the sentence for Davie John Metzger, 55, of O’Fallon, after authorities found hundreds of illegal images on multiple digital devices, including a flash drive, hard drive, cloud storage account, and cell phone.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Metzger had 369 images on a flash drive, 24 on a hard drive, 211 in a cloud account, and 343 on his cell phone. Some images were reportedly taken of women and girls in public places.

In addition to prison, Judge Ross ordered Metzger to pay $64,000 in restitution, with $24,000 going to identified victims and $40,000 allocated to support other victims and related services. Metzger had pleaded guilty in April to one count of receipt of child pornography.

The investigation involved the FBI and the St. Charles County Cybercrime Task Force, with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative to address child sexual exploitation and abuse.
