Last night, the Oakland Fire Department battled a significant 3rd-alarm blaze in the 2100 block of 34th Avenue, with the call coming in at about 9:10 p.m. An estimated 55 firefighters were called to the scene, where they managed a forceful response, curtailing the flames from the initial structure and safeguarding surrounding homes. According to a social media post from the Oakland Fire Department, their efforts prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring houses.
The department's swift action ensured that no injuries were reported. An investigation into what caused the fire is currently underway.
