This morning, the Oakland Police Department responded to a concerning call that hit close to home for many residents: a report of a juvenile possibly armed with a firearm on a school campus in the 12200 block of Skyline Boulevard.
A statement on the Oakland Police Department's Facebook page recounted the incident, stating that the OPD’s Communications Division received the alarming report shortly after 8:00 AM.
The OPD officers concluded that no actual threat materialized after their investigation and interviews. No firearm was found on the premises. In the hours that followed, the authorities provided the all-clear, and the school lockdown was lifted. The Oakland Police assured in their social media update that the students were safe and unharmed and that there was no continuing threat to the public’s safety.
