Oklahoma's Rep. Tammy Townley, a member of the Republican Party from Ardmore, has recently been designated as the Vice Chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) Labor and Economic Development Committee. The announcement, received as a two-year term appointment, places Townley in a pivotal role to steer critical discussions and policy-making for the betterment of workforce issues on a national scale.
In her new position, Townley is set to actively engage in dialogues focused on the myriad challenges facing today's workforce. The NCSL committee is a bipartisan platform that allows lawmakers to brainstorm collectively, seeking to support small businesses earnestly and, in turn, bolster the economies of their respective localities. According to a statement obtained by the Oklahoma House, Townley expressed her eagerness "to represent Oklahoma on a national level," underscoring her commitment to ensure that the voices of Oklahoma's industrious populace are carefully considered and included in the mix.
