The Oregon State Police is currently seeking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in injuries in Linn County. The collision, which involved two vehicles, took place on I-5 northbound near milepost 216 in the early hours of Saturday, September 20.
A gray Kia Rio was making its way north when it was struck from the rear by a vehicle yet to be identified. This unexpected impact caused the Kia to lose control, subsequently leading to the vehicle to tragically roll multiple times. The aftermath saw two of its occupants needing to be urgently transported to a local hospital due to the injuries they sustained. As per the report obtained from the initial announcement, the responsible vehicle did not stop to render aid or identify itself but instead chose to quickly flee the crash site.
Investigating officers have gathered evidence indicating that the fleeing vehicle is likely a dark blue Toyota Corolla SE, model years ranging from 2023 to 2025. Notable damage to this vehicle is expected on the driver's side bumper and side wheel well, with broken parts found at the scene confirming these details.
