The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has taken the lead in a homicide investigation after a 51-year-old man was found dead in Warner, Oklahoma. Identified as Jesse Martin, the man's body, bearing injuries consistent with homicide, was discovered at a property situated at the intersection of Third Street and Fifth Street, as reported by KOCO yesterday.
Following the discovery, OSBI was prompted into action by local law enforcement. A man involved in an earlier altercation with Martin was located with injuries from the incident and has been hospitalized, details from a KOCO news release conveyed.
Meanwhile, FOX23 disclosed that Martin's remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further examination.
Further investigation led Warner police and OSBI to execute a search warrant that unearthed methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. A child was also found inside the suspect’s residence, now placed under the care of family members, according to information from News9. Several arrests ensued on child neglect and drug-related complaints shed light on the broader complexities surrounding the case.
The Muskogee County District Attorney's office is weighing the evidence, deciding whether charges will be filed against the hospitalized suspect.
