Baltimore commuters faced significant delays this morning as a tractor-trailer overturned on northbound I-895, prompting road closures and traffic diversions. According to WBALTV, the incident, which occurred just past the Pulaski Highway exit, was first reported by the Maryland Transportation Authority at about 10:42 a.m. By 11:45 a.m., responders were still working to clear the scene, and all northbound lanes remained closed.
The severity of the disruption was marked by the halt of all traffic on one of the critical arteries serving Baltimore City. NottinghamMD noted that the closure extended to near Moravia Road, as crews were dispatched to manage the aftermath of the crash.
They have yet to provide an estimate for when lanes might reopen. Local authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
