
Earlier today, a pedestrian was fatally struck by an 18-wheeler on Paris Road near the Green Bridge. Confirming the incident, New Orleans Police were called to the scene around 4:20 a.m., where they determined that a pedestrian had been hit by the truck, as reported by FOX 8 Live. The stretch of road was closed to facilitate an early investigation but was reopened approximately two hours later, around 6:30 a.m., as further detailed in the incident report.
Louisiana State Police are now taking over the ongoing investigation. In a statement obtained by WWLTV, they have yet to release any additional information regarding the accident.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, including any details on the victim's age or gender. In the aftermath of the collision, New Orleans EMS responded to the accident and declared the victim dead at the scene, as noted by NOLA.com.
