Attention, drivers: if you're traveling through Ascension Parish anytime soon, be prepared for some delays along Burnside Ave. (LA 44). According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), the road will see alternating lane closures from Wednesday to Saturday.
The closures are scheduled for nighttime hours, kicking off at 8:00 PM and wrapping up at 5:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. These will not be in effect on Saturday; however, they will resume on Monday and extend through to Saturday, October 4. DOTD is gearing up to carry out necessary maintenance, specifically saw cutting and patching concrete pavement.
During these times, the stretch between the intersections of LA 30 and LA 621 will be impacted. The good news for drivers is that one lane of travel will still be open in each direction at all times, ensuring that traffic can continue to move, albeit at a potentially slower pace.
Travelers should note that while these closures are currently set, they are subject to change should adverse weather conditions arise. The DOTD has expressed its thanks in advance for the patience of motorists and underscores the importance of driving cautiously through the work zone. Watch out for the work crews and their equipment, DOTD announced.
