Commuters and local residents of Maple Grove are in for a bit of a detour starting this Monday. According to a post on the official City of Maple Grove social media channels, Hennepin County will initiate a full closure of 93rd Avenue (County Road 30) at the train tracks located between County Road 81 and Forestview Lane due to railroad repair work. The closure will also affect the trails intersecting the railroad tracks, so if your commute involves walking, biking, or rolling through this corridor, you're going to need to rethink your route.
The work, which is set to replace the crossing railroad, is slated to take three weeks, beginning on September 8 and wrapping up by Friday, September 26. The City of Maple Grove's social media post advises those affected to plan alternate routes ahead of time. As for those needing access to businesses and residences in the area, County Road 81 and Elm Creek Boulevard are your go-to detour routes.
"Your patience is appreciated," says the City of Maple Grove's Facebook post, pointing out that the dates provided are weather-dependent and could shift as necessary.
Keep an eye on local traffic reports and the City's social media channels for any updates or changes to the construction schedule.
