The Richmond Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred last Friday in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue. According to a social media post by the Richmond Police Department, the Communications Center received reports of a ShotSpotter activation, and shots fired around 8:43 PM.
Upon arrival, officers found a male adult with gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by the responding officers, the victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
This incident marks the city's second homicide of the year. The RPD Homicide detectives are on the case and are asking for the public's assistance. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Detective J. Guzman at 510-210-2273.
