San Bruno residents were shaken by a shooting that reportedly occurred yesterday. According to a social media post by the San Bruno Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:40 PM in the 1300 block of Shelter Creek Lane. Officers arrived on the scene in response to the gunfire and found that the victim had already left the area in a vehicle to seek help.
The unidentified victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was able to make contact with the authorities and was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment, where they remain in stable condition. The brief chaos on Shelter Creek Lane necessitated a significant police presence between San Bruno Avenue and Whitman Way. Law enforcement urged the public to steer clear as their investigation unfolded.
Investigators quickly took control of the crime scene to gather evidence. Based on the initial findings, they believe this was an isolated incident, suggesting a targeted attack rather than a random act of violence. "This appears to be an isolated and targeted event, and there is no ongoing threat to the broader community," the statement on the San Bruno Police Department's Facebook page noted, providing a small measure of reassurance to a concerned community.
As detectives continue to investigate the details of the case, the San Bruno Police Department is asking for witnesses or anyone with information that might aid their investigation to come forward. The department can be reached at (650) 616-7100.
