
The San José Police Department has reported the arrests of three suspects linked to a spate of armed robberies in the San José area. The first incident took place on August 9, on East San Fernando Street, where a man seated in his vehicle was approached and robbed by two armed individuals. A subsequent robbery on September 8 involved a man being assaulted and robbed when trying to sell clothing through a social media app, as per the San José Police Department.
Through their investigation, detectives identified Silas Willis and Dwonne Brown as suspects in the first robbery. Tyshawn Saunders was pinpointed as a suspect in the assault on Edenvale Avenue. Following the arrest and search warrants for the suspects and their residences, law enforcement succeeded in their capture of Willis, Brown, and Saunders on September 9. During the raid, investigators found an unserialized, privately made firearm amongst other incriminating evidence.
All three men were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of armed robbery. The San José Police continue looking for additional information on these crimes and have urged the public to come forward. There is also a possibility of a cash reward through the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers Program for information that leads to further arrests.
