The City of Sandy Springs has announced that it has commenced preventive maintenance operations on the City Springs parking garage. Work began this week and is expected to extend into early December. Crews are set to operate within a timeframe that hopefully limits disruption: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the maintenance period, the number of available parking spaces in the underground lot will fluctuate to accommodate the ongoing work. According to the city's announcement, the west entrance of the parking deck located at 6300 Blue Stone Rd. is slated for closure starting the week of September 22, restricting access during the construction hours. Incidentally, the closure will last between two to three weeks.
Commuters and visitors will still have options. Access to the underground parking deck will remain available through the east entrance at 230 Mount Vernon Hwy NE. This detour should help mitigate some of the inconveniences caused by the repairs.
According to the city's announcement, this round of work is a routine measure aimed at ensuring that the infrastructure remains safe and reliable for public use. Residents and frequent patrons of the City Springs area are encouraged to plan ahead for possible delays and to consider alternative parking strategies if they frequent the impacted area during the specified maintenance hours.
