Residents of Los Altos Hills can breathe a bit easier today thanks to the watchful eyes of a neighbor and the quick response of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies. In a recent incident, a group of alleged mail thieves was apprehended, and a sizable haul of stolen goods was recovered. According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office's social media post, Deputies Blomdal and Kirby responded to the scene after a neighbor reported suspicious activity.

The deputies discovered the suspect vehicle, which was reportedly brimming with evidence of theft, including opened mail, burglary tools, methamphetamine, stolen credit cards, and IDs that didn’t belong to the suspects. The pilfered mail spanned several cities, comprising the Town of Los Altos Hills, the City of Fremont, the City of Sunnyvale, the City of Milpitas, the City of San José, and the Town of Los Gatos.

All four individuals found in the car were arrested and are now facing multiple charges, including identity theft, mail theft, and conspiracy, among other allegations. Adding to their legal woes, two of the suspects had outstanding warrants, and all had a history of theft-related offenses.
