Over a year since a violent episode shocked a Southwest Atlanta community, authorities have made a second arrest in connection to a homicide that claimed the life of a young man. On September 14, Jaylan Pryor, 23, was apprehended with the assistance of the Cobb County Police Department, for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting on 300 Wilson Mill Rd SW, that occurred back in August 2022. According to the Atlanta Police Department's press release, Pryor is facing a string of charges including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Similarly, on October 9, 2023, Jordan Tate, then 24, was arrested for his role related to the same incident. The press release noted that Mr. Tate was charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of felony, and theft by taking. Although these individuals have been taken into custody, it is important to remember that an arrest does not equate to a conviction, and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The initial response to the tragic event on August 2nd, 2022, began when officers received a call around 10:00 pm. Upon their arrival at the scene, they encountered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds, who was later pronounced deceased. Homicide investigators quickly took charge of the unfolding situation, the Atlanta Police Department provided preliminary details disclosing the victim's condition as neither alert nor conscious at the time they arrived.
