On August 24, Deontae Cratic, a Solano County resident, transformed into an embodiment of courage when he faced down a fiery crash scene to save a life. The California Highway Patrol Solano Area recognized Cratic's gallant efforts in a social media post, crediting him with the life-saving rescue of a severely injured driver. According to the CHP Solano's post, Cratic did not hesitate to risk his own safety to extricate the victim from a potentially deadly situation.
Witnessing the serious traffic crash, Cratic instantly acted to pull the driver out of the burning vehicle, single-handedly altering the course of what could have been a fatal event. "His decisive and courageous actions ensured the driver survived this tragic incident," the CHP Solano detailed.
“His willingness to act in the face of imminent danger exemplifies the highest standards of heroism and community spirit,” stated the CHP Solano in praise of Cratic's action.
