Drivers in Springfield should expect lane closures on Kearney Street (Missouri Route 744) between Hillcrest Avenue and nearby areas from September 2 to September 15 due to pavement repair work. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has closed the eastbound and westbound inside left-passing lanes, along with the center turn lane, while outside right lanes remain open.
Electronic message boards have been placed in the area to provide real-time updates for drivers. Pedestrian mobility may also be affected during the repairs, and motorists are advised to use caution around crews.
The $14.9 million project, managed by Capital Paving & Construction of Columbia, is part of a larger plan to improve Missouri Route 744 and the Kearney Street corridor.
