
The latest cohort of the regional P.O.S.T. Academy, class 2025-42, is forging ahead into week 4 of their rigorous training program, as announced in a social media post by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. This week's curriculum is focused on enhancing the cadets' knowledge of laws, specifically those governing vehicle stops, searches and seizures, alongside the intricacies of the plain view and open field doctrines, and the nuances of courtroom testimony.
The Sheriff’s Office announced that cadets are focusing on intensive study alongside daily physical fitness and defensive tactics training. Officials noted these activities are part of the preparation process to equip cadets with the knowledge and skills needed for law enforcement service.
The Sheriff’s Office post noted the participation of an Honored Guest Instructor and shared cadet testimonies from class 2025-42, offering insight into their training experiences.
