St. Louis residents heard the city’s Outdoor Warning Siren system this morning as part of a scheduled test. The City of St. Louis Government’s Facebook page shared the St. Louis Fire Department's Facebook post, the department activated the sirens at 11:00 a.m. from the city’s primary fire alarm site.
The test was part of routine maintenance to ensure the emergency alert system is working properly. The city confirmed that no additional tests would occur that day and reminded residents that it was only a test.
City officials provided advance notice to keep the community informed and ensure the system is reliable in case of an actual emergency.
