Lenoir was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred in the 4800 block of Cote Brilliante on September 1 of that year, and despite the passage of time, authorities have not yet been able to identify a suspect or ascertain a motive. A recent statement by the Homicide Division, retrieved from an update on the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's website, underscores the ongoing investigation: "Officers received a call for a shooting in the 4800 block of Cote Brilliante for a report of a male that was shot inside a vehicle."
The details around the incident, which unfolded around 7:50 p.m., reveal Lenoir was inside his car when he was shot in the chest. He was transported privately to a hospital, but despite medical efforts, his life came to a premature end there. The challenge for detectives has been the lack of leads or tips to vigorously pursue, with information gaps that have kept the case in the cold file. They remain committed, nevertheless, to continue working on the case until a resolution is found.
