An update has emerged in the case of a 70-year-old man found shot in his Debaliviere Place home. Authorities have identified the victim as Herbert Nelson and disclosed that a 45-year-old male suspect has now been arrested. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect is facing charges for Hindering Prosecution of Felony and Tampering with Evidence in a Felony Prosecution.
Investigators responded to the scene on the 5800 block of Pershing shortly after 6 p.m. on August 20, upon receiving a call concerning a shooting. Found dead at the scene, Nelson's death is currently being treated as a suspected homicide. Initially sought, a male suspect is now in custody, with no additional suspects believed to be involved in the incident, which speculatively appears to be domestic-related.
