The Douglas County District Attorney's Office has made a significant breakthrough with the arrest of an individual tied to a series of rapes, spanned across various years, with Bobby Lee Hart Jr. being charged in connection with three separate incidents dating back as early as 2012, and as recent as 2024, as per announcements made this week.
Hart, who has been found to use a litany of aliases including Maurice, Robert, Kevin, Champ, King, and Meat, is believed by authorities to have potentially been involved in even more crimes than those already uncovered; this pattern of abuse has led to concerted calls for any additional victims to stand forth and help in bringing further charges—authorities were able to link multiple victims through CODIS, a national DNA database, said FOX 5 Atlanta.
"To survivors who may not yet have come forward: you are not alone," Douglas County District Attorney Dalia Racine said. “Coming forward takes courage, but we have investigators, prosecutors, and advocates trained and ready to support you. Your voice matters, and we are here to listen,” as reported by Atlanta News First.
