Two individuals have been taken into custody in connection with a shooting that left one man seriously injured in the Centennial Neighborhood. The confrontation, which transpired on a Friday afternoon, prompted a rapid response from law enforcement and culminated in the recovery of a firearm believed to be linked to the crime, as detailed by the Portland Police Bureau.
At around 2:45 p.m. on August 22, East Precinct officers were called to the vicinity of Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street, where they found an adult male suffering from grievous wounds. The victim received emergency care from the officers, swiftly being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The initial sweep of evidence and eyewitness accounts quickly led police to pinpoint a suspect and a vehicle associated with the incident.
The ensuing inquiry led authorities to a parking lot in the 16000 block of East Burnside Street on August 24, where the suspect's vehicle was located. Mere blocks away, at Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street, police took into custody both the suspect, Jeroshea M. Wilson, 27, and his associate, Sir James A. Williams, 37. The arrests unfolded without further incident, and a firearm was seized during the operation. Both men now face serious charges and have been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC).
Wilson is charged with an array of offenses, including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and multiple firearms-related violations. His record also notes previous convictions that exacerbate his legal challenges. Williams, for his part, is up against charges about unlawful weapon possession.
