A tragic incident occurred early on September 15, when a teenager was killed and another critically injured at a party in Mesa, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. The shooting, which disrupted the otherwise quiet residential area near Gilbert and Baseline roads, took place around 2 a.m. and has left the community in shock.
"All you could hear was the rounds of gunfire. Probably 8 to 10, I say. 'Pop, pop, pop.' It did not stop," Camila, a neighbor who was woken up by the sound, told FOX 10 Phoenix. The neighborhood, left to grapple with the violence thrust into their midst, had parents fearful for their children's safety. It was feared that stray bullets could penetrate the walls of the homes that sheltered their little ones, creating an atmosphere soaked in dread.
