A recent Facebook post from the Tulsa Police Department highlighted an incident where a driver was caught traveling 52 mph in a 25 mph zone near Thoreau Academy, which could result in a fine of up to $500.
Reduced speeds are required not only during morning drop-off but also at other designated times throughout the school day, including lunch hours and afternoon pickups. These checks are part of ongoing efforts to improve safety in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.
