Senior forward Samantha Crispe is gearing up for the upcoming 2025-26 season with the Utah women's basketball team, reflecting on her journey so far and her aspirations for the future. An interview with Crispe on UtahUtes.com gave us a glimpse into her life both on and off the court, from cherished childhood memories to her dreams of law school post-basketball.
Crispe, hailing from Castle Pines, Colorado, has boasted a 46.6% success rate from the field and 75% from the line in her initial seasons, with 85 rebounds to her name. The dedication to her sport was underscored by a touching nod to her early days playing 2v2 with her family, saying, "When I used to play 2v2 in the driveway with my dad and brothers," a core memory that grounded her love for the game, UtahUtes.com reported.
Not just a star on the basketball court, Crispe also shared her multitalented background and other interests. If not for basketball, she might have been a collegiate swimmer, revealing her past competitive edge in the sport. Beyond athletics, her off-court achievement as a legal intern points to a future advocating for student-athletes and helping veterans on a pro bono basis, encapsulating her ambition and drive to make an impact.
Crispe's collegiate experience at Utah has been marked by strong relationships and support. "The unwavering support from the coaches and support staff at Utah," was among her favorite things, she shared. And on the court, her pride shines through in her hard work, especially in rim running, which she values for its dependability: "It is something that I have control over," Crispe told UtahUtes.com. Team spirit is evident, too, in the way she encourages teammates through tough moments by focusing on learning from mistakes and moving on.
