Tragedy struck Ellicott City yesterday when a woman was found fatally stabbed in her apartment. Howard County police have charged Rondale Dickerson, a 34-year-old man from Mappsville, Virginia, with murder and other offenses in the death of 44-year-old Shelaya Broadwater. WBALTV reported that police were called to the scene on the 3100 block of West Springs Drive around 3:06 p.m., where the victim was pronounced dead.
According to FOX Baltimore, there were no signs of forced entry into Broadwater's apartment, suggesting a different narrative than a random act of violence. Dickerson, who had been recently engaged to Broadwater, now faces charges that include first- and second-degree murder, assault, and home invasion.
