Last Wednesday, the Horizon City Police Department announced the arrest of one Daniel Lucero at the Ysleta Port of Entry in El Paso, Texas. The arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between the local police and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Lucero was taken into custody around 2:15 PM after CBP agents at the border facility recognized him and alerted the authorities.
According to a post on the Horizon City Police Department Facebook page, Lucero was apprehended when attempting to cross the border from Juárez, Mexico, into the United States. A routine check by CBP agents confirmed that Lucero had an active warrant for Indecent Assault out of Horizon City.
Upon his capture, Lucero was transferred to the El Paso County Detention Facility. He was booked on the strength of the outstanding warrant, with a bond set at $5,000. The social media announcement by the police department also expressed gratitude toward the CBP for their assistance in the matter, emphasizing the importance of interagency collaboration in maintaining public safety and bringing individuals to justice.
