The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is planning road closures as part of the ongoing Loop 101 expansion efforts. Scheduled to hit the pavement are a series of closures that might just reroute your everyday errands or night-out plans.
Starting on Friday, September 12 at 10 p.m., the southbound I-17 ramp that swings onto westbound Loop 101, along with the westbound on-ramp at 27th Avenue, won't be taking any traffic until 5 p.m. the following day. ADOT recommends giving yourself some added time to take an alternate route—perhaps use Deer Valley Road to 35th Avenue to find your way back to the westbound Loop 101. These changes are set to potentially revise your course but think of it as an opportunity to become just a little more familiar with the city's sprawling grid.
And it's not just the weekend warriors who need to stay vigilant; even the night owls need to stay alert. There will be overnight ramp closures from 10 p.m. tomorrow, September 11 to 5 a.m. Friday, September 12 that include the eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 75th Avenue, the westbound on-ramp at 51st Avenue, and the westbound off-ramp at 59th Avenue.
