
The community in Whitman is on alert as local police are asking for assistance in finding a 57-year-old man who has gone missing. John Madden was last seen yesterday, around 3:30 p.m. when he walked away from a group home on Park Avenue. According to the official statement from the Whitman Police Department, Madden's whereabouts have become a cause for concern.
Notably, Madden was captured on surveillance footage near the Town Hall at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the same day of his disappearance. The alarm was raised when he was reported missing around 7:55 p.m., and shortly after — at around 8:00 p.m. — he was seen on camera once again in the same vicinity. The police are eager to gather information from anyone who might have seen Madden or have knowledge of his current location.
Madden is described as a 5-foot-9-inch tall male, weighing in about 180 pounds, sporting brown eyes and shoulder-length brown/blackish hair. At the time he went missing, he was wearing dark clothes along with a shirt emblazoned with "Jimmy G. Containers."
