Mason, a 54-year-old from Woodworth, died in a crash on U.S. Highway 165, just north of Louisiana Highway 524, early on Sunday morning. The collision occurred around 2:45 a.m., when Mason’s 2020 Freightliner veered off the road and struck several trees before flipping over.
Mason, who authorities say was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
