Covering iconic San Francisco spots like Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, City Hall, and the Golden Gate Bridge, fans clad in Stephen Curry jerseys closely trailed the YouTuber. According to CBS News Bay Area, one fan couldn't contain their admiration, saying, "He's an amazing guy. He's really kind hearted. He's given away so much." His visit to City Hall included an interaction with Mayor Daniel Lurie, who posted a video of the encounter, where IShowSpeed expressed his awe, "Listen bro, it's amazing. There's quinceañeras, weddings, everything's here. It's beautiful."
Across the bay in Oakland, IShowSpeed sparked a festive atmosphere, particularly at a popular burger joint, followed by an impromptu sideshow. While the legality of the sideshow raised concerns about his livestream, it ultimately continued without issue. ABC7 News captured the infectious enthusiasm surrounding the YouTube star, with Ruchika Sekar explaining her experience, "I was over there and I was trying to see Speed and completely fell over and trampled, and then Speed picked me up, of course. He's so nice. What a great dude."
His fan base, encompassing over 44 million subscribers on YouTube alone, spans a diverse demographic that often crosses generational borders. In a city known for its tech-savvy population, IShowSpeed's popularity underscores the pervasive influence of digital personalities in contemporary culture. Shedding light on the charm of the Bay Area, IShowSpeed's appreciative words, per ABC7 News, "I feel like people tend to not shed a light on it, but it's very lit here, it's so fun here," reflect a larger narrative about the region's vibrant and often underrepresented energy.
