Atlanta has just gained a new strategic guide in Zaffer Sange. Sange will step into the shoes of Peter Aman as the Chief Strategy Officer for the City. The transition heralds not only a new chapter for Atlanta's leadership but also signifies the Mayor's ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and thriving city, as reported by the City of Atlanta.

Bringing over 25 years of global business acumen to the table, Sange is stepping into public service after spearheading major transformations in companies including Novelis, INEOS, and BP. His record boasts significant achievements like scaling operations and enhancing team performances. The Mayor clearly values Sange's business-stoked wisdom. "Zaffer brings a rare combination of global business experience and deep local commitment," Mayor Andre Dickens said, according to the City of Atlanta's news release.

Sange appears to be onboard with the civic-minded direction of his new role, aiming to use his skills for the city's greater good. “I am humbled to join Mayor Dickens’ team and to serve the residents in one of the nation's leading metro economies - a city that has given so much to my family and me. I felt a deep calling to serve.  This is a purposeful decision to apply my experience in ways that directly improve lives and strengthen communities. Public-private collaboration, done right, can create lasting impact. Together, we can shape a future where growth is inclusive, opportunities are expanded, and every community thrives.” Sange told the City of Atlanta.

The outgoing Chief Strategy Officer, Peter Aman, has had a profound impact on Atlanta. The end of 2025 will mark the end of his tenure with many accolades, such as strategizing for the Atlanta Police Department and enhancing the city's water infrastructure. After his departure, Aman is set to continue his influence in an advisory capacity, according to Mayor Dickens. “Peter’s leadership has been vital to both APD and the City. At APD, he drove major successes in officer recruitment, faster E911 answer times, and improvements in strategy, technology, fleet, and operations," the Mayor noted in the announcement.
