Tragedy struck a southeast Atlanta neighborhood late Sunday when a 16-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound in an apparent drive-by shooting. According to a report by FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on the 2000 block of Flat Shoals Road SE. Upon arrival, police found the teenage victim injured and swiftly transported him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting paint a daunting picture of violence, as the youth reportedly walked alongside a girl when an unidentified vehicle approached, shots rang out, and the car vanished into the night. The girl managed to flee unharmed, but the boy, struck by gunfire was less fortunate.
