
Tragedy struck in Dundalk early Tuesday morning as a skateboarder was killed after a collision with a truck, according to officials from the Baltimore County Police Department. The incident occurred at the intersection of Merritt Boulevard and Westfield Road at approximately 5:45 a.m. FOX Baltimore reported that the victim, identified as 19-year-old Jose Romero-Alvarez, was riding a skateboard when the accident happened.
Authorities arrived on the scene to investigate that a 2001 Toyota Tacoma was the vehicle involved in striking Romero-Alvarez. Even though the sun had barely broken the horizon, the immediate aftermath of the crash painted a stark and somber scene. As per NottinghamMD, detectives with the Baltimore County Police Crash Team are looking into the exact circumstances of the crash.
Emergency crews transported Romero-Alvarez to a local hospital following the incident, where he was later pronounced dead.
